Hi! I am Krystyna - an architect, landscape designer, and perpetual student. I find joy and intrigue in gardens of all sorts. You can probably relate to that. One deep draw of these vegetated places is the stories that they hold. I want to share some of mine, and I want to hear some of yours.
My own garden is a continual experiment. It’s my lab, a recovery nursery for abandoned plants, a gallery of impulse buys, and home to my favorites - the sentimental plants handed on to me by family and friends.
Through this last category, a great nostalgic weight weaves through my garden and I am rooted. I can’t imagine moving and leaving them behind. Each plant holds meaning for me. I'd give you a tour if I could - that's what we do in my family. When someone visits, the first thing we do is walk the property and talk about the plants, gather seeds, and take cuttings.
But you're far away, so that's what this little space is for: to walk you through my garden, and other gardens I visit. And for you to tell me about your garden.
For reference, I am in Zone 10a, on the Gulf Coast of Florida.
Where is your garden located?
(note: I am not a horticulturist, nor an arborist. My posts will tend toward the subjective nature of personal narrative, rather than technical information on plants or plant care.)
